Chiamalo come ti pare Poesie

Chiamalo come ti pare Call It What You Like
Chiamalo
come ti pare,
ma io l’ho
trovato solo
per strada.
A casa
non era amore,
ciò che mio padre
mi faceva.
Alla scuola superiore
non era amore
ciò che i ragazzi
mi facevano fare
sui sedili posteriori
delle loro macchine.
Nel mio matrimonio
non era amore
quando mio marito
mi vomitava addosso
ogni notte.
All’ospizio
non era amore
quando gli infermieri
ti facevano
fare quello
che volevano.
Ma in strada
è amore
quando qualcuno
divide con te
una coperta
e non
ti tocca.
You call it
what you like,
but I’ve only
found it
on the street.
At home
it wasn’t love
what my father
did to me.
In high school
it wasn’t love
what the boys
made me do
in the backseats
of their cars.
In my own marriage
it wasn’t love
when my husband
threw up
on me,
every night.
In the county home
it wasn’t love
when the male nurses
made you
do anything
they wanted.
But on the street
it is love
when someone
shares
a blanket,
and doesn’t
touch you.
