Preghiera a La Loba

Preghiera a La Loba Prayer to la Loba
Aiutaci ad essere arrabbiati, buoni
Ad avere bocche piene di carne
Lingue di muscolo, per leccare, rosse,
Sputare ossi intorno a un fuoco,
accoppiarci bene, incontrarci bene, ululare
al momento giusto
anche senza luna.
Aiutaci a trovare la nostra strada,
carica di neve,
su laghi solitari, soli, forse
nel mezzo di un continente.
Aiutaci a rotolare, miagolare, muoverci furtivi, cullare,
aiutaci ad essere giovanissimi
sulle colline.
Aiutaci ad avere orecchie per sentire
Quando il male non è vicino.
Aiutaci a masticare, digerire, rigurgitare,
aiutaci ad accovacciarci nella nostra peluria
e non dispiacerci delle nostre membra e degli odori.
Aiutaci a cantare canzoni pazzesche
Quando nessuno vuole ascoltarle.
Aiutaci a giungere a una caverna di grugniti
E raggomitolarci e fare un sonnellino.
Aiutaci ad avere code che spazzano lunghe storie,
occhi che vedono le tribù di notte,
bianche, congelate nelle stelle.
Aiutaci ad avere piedi che vacillano,
e non hanno paura
di vacillare.
Agitaci, scuotici, veglia su noi,
contaci di notte col gufo,
e il respiro,
e il suono,
e il serpente.
Aiutaci
Tienici svegli
Tienici appuntiti
Tienici tondi
Tienici profondi
Tienici
Come custodi
Di un mondo
Addormentato.
Help us to be angry, good,
To have mouths full of meat
Tongues of muscle, to lick, red,
Spit bones around a fire,
Mate well, meet well, howl
When right and fitting
Even without a moon.
Help us to find our way,
Heavy with snow,
On lonely lakes, alone, maybe
In the middle of a continent.
Help us to roll, yowl, slide, cradle,
Help us to be very young
On hills.
Help us to have ears to hear
When harm’s not near.
Help us to chew, digest, regurgitate,
Help us to squat in our own fluff
And not mind our bits and smells.
Help us to sing crazed songs
When no one wants to hear them.
Help us to come to a cave of snarls
and curl and snooze.
Help us to have tails that sweep long stories,
Eyes that see the tribes by night,
White, frozen in the stars.
Help us to have feet that falter,
and are not afraid
of faltering.
Rattle us, shake us, vigil us,
Count us at night with owl,
and breath,
and sound,
and snake
Help us
Keep us awake
Keep us pointed
Keep us round
Keep us deep
Keep us
as keepers
of world
asleep.
